Among other pursuits I love leafing through the ancient hardbound copies of The Argonaut... spent an hour pursuing an argument through several issues in the mid-30s about the correct pronunciation of Kearny Street. Turns out we&#039;re all doing it wrong! It&#039;s pronounced &quot;Karney&quot; everywhere else in the world, including in Ireland where the name originated. How our pronunciation migrated to &quot;Kerney&quot; is one for the linguists...</description>
